Book Two: Second Snowfall

Annabelle is a relationship virgin. True love has been her dream all her life and when red hot firefighter Kingsley drops into her lap, she thinks she might have found the one. But her heart really longs for another man, one that she can never have. And when her picture perfect romance begins to crack, Annabelle is left to pick up the pieces…before it’s too late.

Book Three: Third Wheel

Christ has her life all planned out. First she’ll graduate college, then marry her childhood sweetheart, and live happily ever after in the traditional American Dream….the traditional, boring American Dream. Christie breaks all the rules and even meets a boy who sets her soul on fire. But life with street racer Shane has its dangers and she’s about to learn first hand that living on the edge isn’t easy.

Give Back to Hole High

When Kelsey isn’t writing, she runs two nonprofit organizations, which Sarah fully supports. One of the nonprofits is a new one named Hole High.

Hole High was created by Brandon Canesi, who was born without hands. Yet his limb difference hasn’t stopped him from living a normal, yet adaptive, life. But Canesi truly thrives on the golf course. However, proper equipment and training is difficult to find and not covered by the majority of insurance plans. Due to that, most people with limb differences aren’t able to participate in the game in the same way the general public can.

The goal of Hole High is to help children and young adults with limb differences obtain specialized gear and promote the love of the game, no matter your physical status. This is something Kelsey and Sarah both believe strongly in, so for today and tomorrow, we will be donating all of our book sale proceeds to Hole High in order to help all adaptive golfers Go The Distance.

book review

Confessions of a Nerdoholic

It’s no secret that I find Savannah Blevin’s books totally worth the read. I’ve done her whole hockey romance series and couldn’t find a fault. So when I heard she had a new book coming, I reached out and demanded a spot on her review team. So let’s take a look at Confessions of a Nerdoholic!

Heat Level: ♥♥♥

Overall Rating: 6/6 Glass Slippers

Genre: New Adult Romantic Comedy

Much like many of us, Eloise Duncan has a type; tall, handsome, bespectacled, and clothed in video game t-shirts and skinny jeans. Give the guy a book, and that nerd is right up Eloise’s ally. She spies the perfect specimen in the library, making for more than a few distracted study sessions, which is bad news for Eloise, since she’s failing her anatomy class. If she flunks out, her dad will force her to move to the other side of the country and give up the college she loves and the bakery she works for.

Oliver Edwards is just the man Eloise needs to see…about passing anatomy. He trades tutoring for some of her famous baked goods, but more than an oven will be heating things up when they take anatomy, add in some chemistry, and end up with a big bang. But when Eloise’s father threatens to make good on his promise, the pair are suddenly on a deadline with a possible end to their romance in sight.

As always, Blevins mixes comedy and romance to create something fun and sweet that isn’t over the top or corny. There’s also just the right amount of heat to warm up your winter, without making you feel like a perv! You can identify with Eloise, who is just a little bit different than the other girls, and you swoon over Oliver, who offers everything a romance hero should be in a nerdy little package that’s both hot and intelligent. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a little laugh with their literature.

Isle of the Blessed

This afternoon I have a fun little novel titled Isle of the Blessed by Suzan Tisdale. As always, this historical Scottish romance was everything I needed it to be and more.

Heat Level:♥♥

Overall Rating: 6/6 Glass Slippers

Genre: Historical Romance

This tale begins many years ago when a soldier dies in combat, leaving a sword hidden as a last love letter to his wife Theodosia. Decades later, the sword is passed through generations, finally coming to a young girl named Josephine, or Joie, upon the death of her mother. She is sword to never speak of the blade to anyone, only giving it to her true love. It’s a task easier said than done when Joie is abused by her father and brother Helmert.

Graeme hasn’t been home to Scotland in years, but is called back when his father commands him to marry Josephine. While Graeme remembers her as a slight girl who was often in hiding from her brother, nothing like the worldly woman with vast intellect he dreamed of. So he shirked his betrothal duties, only getting the sense knocked into him by his older brother, who was angered with the way Joie had been treated, along with her friend Laurin, who had been sexually abused by Helmert and his friends. At first, Graeme isn’t concerned with the tales he heard about Helmert’s cruelty, but once he sees it for himself, he finally understands everything. He feels terrible at not coming to collect Joie sooner

Soon, Joie and Laurin are on their way to their new lives with Graeme. But there’s still the question of the hidden sword. While Graeme may have grown into a handsome and noble man, Joie still isn’t sure if she can trust him, or if he’ll ever be worthy of the legendary blade. And what of Helmert and his band of lackeys?

As always, I was completely in love with Tisdale’s book. You hated Helmert, your heart broke for Joie and Laurin, and you questioned Graeme and his plans. Honestly, you can never go wrong with any of Tisdale’s book, and this was no exception. There’s much more to the story than the little taste I just gave you, so I implore you to go pick up a copy of Isle of the Blessed and see for yourself.

book review

I hate to leave too much time between books in a series, if I can help it, so here’s the second book in Penelope Marshall’s Silvermoon: Scent of Blood series; Gideon. If you haven’t read Rosaline yet, don’t read any further as it, obviously, contains mega spoilers!

Heat Level:♥♥♥

Overall Rating: 5.5/6 Glass Slippers

Genre: Paranormal Romance

When I said I thought that the second book would have more killer action, I was totally right. It picks up where we left off at the end of Rosaline, kissing the masked man. Surprise! It’s not William, so obviously there’s some drama surrounding a bit of flirty kisses and ‘our souls are connected’ statements, which kind of sets the tone for the rest of the novella. Action, drama, fighting, and star crossed lovers. The feistiest Romeo and Juliet I’ve read in a while.

One tasty tidbit that is brought up pretty quickly was what Rosaline’s parents knew, all along, about the world of vampire/werewolf people…were-pires? Vamp-wolves? Valves? Vampire-werewolf hybrids. There are s few reasons why Rosaline is being pushed so hard to be with good, old, Willy.

But that’s not all the drama. There’s still that wedding to William that’s around the corner, some deaths, jealous slighted lovers, disapproving family; all the stuff to make for a good afternoon read!
