Royally Abandoned is Live!

When we met in college more years ago than a lady ever tells, we had no idea we would stay friends through moves, marriages, careers, and life in general! And when we each decided to write our own books, we had no idea we’d end up publishing one together. Now, we’re proud to say our first joint project is now available in print and ebook form!

A seat on the throne or a place in her heart?

Greyson Montgomerydreams of a simple life, but as the crown prince of Aldora, simple is not in his future. Before ascending the throne on Christmas Eve, Greyson is given one month to explore how the other half lives. Armed with a few hundred dollars and a fake backstory, Greyson flies to Savannah, Georgia, to see if he has what it takes to chase the American Dream.

Scarlett Calhoun is a Southern Belle with a heart as big as a Georgia peach. When she meets the charming construction worker, Greyson, it isn’t long before she is embracing the holiday cheer. Soon, she’s teaching him how to cook, falling for his exotic accent and soulful eyes, and joining him on picnic lunches where they talk for hours.

With Christmas Eve nearing, Greyson must fly back to Aldora and either abdicate the throne, or take his rightful place as king. Will he ignore his birthright to remain with Scarlett or will she be royally abandoned?

Royally Abandoned is available in ebook and paperback now through all major book sellers HERE!

Hot Scot!

It’s no secret that Jamie Fraser (and Sam Heughan) hold a special place in our hearts as the hottest of hot when it comes to tall drinks of Scottish whiskey. But outside of our imaginations, the books, and the reruns, we must live without Jamie until September at least! But what of other famous hot Scots that have graced our presence with their kilted glory?

Gerard Butler

This 47 year old hard body is one we all know and love. Irish by stock and Scottish by birth, Gerard began his career almost on accident after being fired by the law firm he worked for, one week before qualifying as a lawyer. He didn’t know what he was going to do, but he knew he would be famous. By the time he was 27, he got his first acting gig on stage. By 30, he was headlining some rather well known movies and become a household name. Now he’s headlining in our hearts and spending his time working alongside charities and looking for a Scottish castle to call his own.

John Barrowman

Glasgow born John is a jack of all trades, having his hand in music, theater, tv, movies, and writing. And alongside husband Scott, he advocates for gay rights in the US and the UK. Handsome, talented, and a philanthropist. Swoon! Personally, I’m waiting for him to make another appearance on Broadway, as he’s a mega magical theatrical actor, but he’s been sticking to the UK stages as of late. I’ll get ya one day, John!

Ewan McGregor

Now here’s a piece of hot haggis! You may recognize Ewan from Star Wars and Trainspotting, or maybe one of his theatrical projects. Either way, he’s a hard one to miss, especially when he’s in a kilt. Word on the street is that he’s even set to play Christopher Robin in a live action version of Winnie the Pooh. Now I normally wouldn’t be one to go wait in line to see that, but with an actor like Ewan McGregor, who wouldn’t want to take a trip to the Hundred Acre Woods?

David Tennant

The Tenth Doctor has wanted to be an actor for years, even at age three while watching Doctor Who he made his wishes known. How adorable was it that he loved The Doctor and ended up joining the team? His Scottish roots go deep and he claims heritage with the MacDonalds and the McLeods. And his Scottish accent is so velvety, he’s also a regular radio performer and voice actor. Just imagine him talking to you alllll day.

Calvin Harris

With a personal fortune of $105 million dollars and such famous exs as Rita Ora and Taylor Swift, it’s obvious that Calvin is a hot commodity. But he’s more that just an Armani underwear model and music producer, he also supports such noble causes as World AIDs Day and regularly preforms to benefit children’s hospitals and children displaced by war. He’s got my vote as Hot Scot of the year!

Richard Madden

Dear Richard, the north remembers your valiant fight against those who wished to rid Winterfell of the Stark King in the North. But you live on in your awesome glamour shots and recent starring role as Cinderella, a movie where you get to play a royal who isn’t murdered in cold blood. But, for real, he’s been named as being a mega hot, mega fashionable, and mega awesome actor by several news agencies, and who am I to disagree? Did I mention Cinderella is Sarah’s favorite story?

James McAvoy

Did you know that James was sooo close to becoming a Catholic priest? It’s true. While that’s noble and amazing, we would have missed him in such awesome things as X-Men, Shameless, Band of Brothers, and Atonement. Between those baby blues, his ability to act his way into your heart, and his interest in charity, he’s a total catch. Did I mention he’s single?

Gordon Ramsay

Yeah, he’s not drop dead gorgeous, but if he didn’t make the list, I’m afraid he’d come to my house next time I prepared dinner and make me cry due to my solidly average cooking.

Still not enough hot Scot action? Then here’s some more tartan eye candy for you.

book review, New Book

Crescent Hill

I have a small (very large) obsession with reality TV shows. It doesn’t matter the kind. I watch The Real Housewives of everywhere, the singing competition, dancing competitions (Love the Jabbawockeez), and of course, the improvement shows. Jackie Wang’s new book takes what we all secretly love about these shows and adds a little unscripted romance.

Heat: ♥♥♥

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Overall Rating: 4.5 Glass Slippers

Roman has worked hard over the years and become successful. He is a well known hospitality whiz and can take any hotel, bed and breakfast, or lodge and turn it into a thriving business. Or at least he thought he could. When he offered to help the Summers family with their small town hotel, he had no idea what he was getting into. The kitchen serves food that is barely edible, the front door sticks, and the rooms are unlivable. How will he manage to fix the hotel up in time for their grand reopening? He rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. The only problem is, Magnolia (Maggie) Summers keeps catching his eye. She’s hot, sassy, and a wonderful mom but she is holding something back. Roman dives in to try and fix all of her problems, but Maggie isn’t used to accepting help, especially not when her son’s father is back in the picture.

Maggie is wasting her life away, working in a hotel that she hates, for family who blame her for their biggest tragedy, and all while being known as the town’s worst kept secret. But she gets up everyday, takes her sons to school, and works hard. So hard that she’s nearly given up on her ambition to become a professional pastry chef. How can she? The boys need new sneakers, her family needs a hotel manager, but she needs a break. In walks Roman who offers to give her everything. But at a price. Is living happily ever after worth leaving everything she has ever known, taking her boys from their fathers and the possibility of a relationship. What’s a single mom to do when sex on a stick offers you more than just a good time?

I read a beta version of this book and it was a lot of fun. My husband works in the hospitality business so I knew a lot about hotels by proxy. I felt that Wang did a pretty good portrayal of the jobs, the different types of workers, and the problems that overtake struggling businesses.

Now onto Roman. I’ve read a few of Jackie’s books but Roman was one of my favorites. It had nothing to do with the fact that he was loaded (though that didn’t hurt). He embraced Maggie’s sons and treated them with respect and didn’t overstep his bounds. That is a fine line to tread sometimes. But I also liked how Roman wanted to help people. He went out of his way to help people wherever he was. He didn’t want the press, but rather he did it because he had a good heart. A good heart, a great ass, and an accent…I’m sorry, I got completely distracted by a new book boyfriend.

This is one of Wang’s steamier books but it is still on the tame side so I think this is a good book for beginning romance lovers, or those who don’t know what to do with a whip or a chain to check out.

If you enjoy the fixer upper shows on TV and the romance movie on Hallmark, then this book is perfect for you. Enjoy and if you like what you see, check out her other books Fugitive and Landlady.

Where Else to See the Stars of Outlander

It has been a struggle for us to deal with Droughtlander. All we can do is rewatch the series or reread the books. In an attempt to keep us all sane, we’ve found just a few of the several movies and tv shows starring the cast of Outlander. While it isn’t the same as a new episode, we will take what we can get.

Sam Heughan

A Princess For Christmas– I’m sure many of you have heard about this movie. Jules Daly is trying to make Christmas happen for her niece and nephew. However, since their parents’ death, nothing really excites them anymore. That is until a mysterious invitation brings them across the pond and into Sam Heughan’s world. I’ve personally seen this movie and it’s adorable. I plan to watch it many more times. Don’t want to pay for it? Then wait for it to come on the Hallmark Channel on October 30th at 12 pm.

You can rent this movie for $2.99  or buy it for $14.99 on Amazon

First Light- Sam was also in a movie called First Light. This is about a spitfire pilot who entered the war when he was only 18 and how he heroically fought in the battle of Britain. It is a drama documentary and is not a Hollywood glamour version of the war. There is testimony from Geoffrey Wellum, the man Sam plays. Maybe war movies aren’t your thing? This would be a great movie to watch with your significant other. He can watch the war and fighting parts and you can watch Sam! This is trickier to find than A Princess for Christmas.

It is on Amazon in several third party versions but only on DVD. It is also available at FYE, which is a movie store. FYE stands for For Your Entertainment. I do shop at the actual store so I can vouch for its credibility.

Sam has a couple other movies out but I cannot find a way to view them Legally. Those movies are Young Alexander the Great, Emulsion, and Heart of Lightness. If you know where to find them, then please comment on the post.

Caitriona Balfe

Caitriona has been in several movies and has held small roles. For example, how many of you have seen Now You See Me? She is in Michael Cane’s character’s entourage. She plays his daughter or wife. I didn’t notice this until I looked hard. The best place to see her is hen they are on the plane to New Orleans. She also has a small roll in Escape Plan with with Sylvester Stallone. Other than that, we have other places to find her.

Money Monster– This is a movie with Julia Roberts and George Clooney (do you need another reason to see this other than these two). Clooney is a tv star and Julia Roberts is his producer. An irate investor in a financial company takes over the show and threatens lives unless a conspiracy is researched and resolved. The lovely Cait is the spokesperson for the financial company that is being blamed for all the issues.

There are some options to watch this movie. You can buy or rent a digital copy on Amazon or you can purchase the actual DVD.

Other than Outlander, I think that Cait is best known for her modeling days. Here are some of our favorites.

Tobas Menzies

Tobias Menzies has a lot of other credits. Any Game of Thrones fans? He plays Edmure Tully, Catelyn Stark’s brother. He is in eight episodes and looks even sexier. To flip to those episodes, he is in Walk of Punishment– season 3 episode 3, Kissed by Fire– season 3 episode 5, The Climb season 3 episide 6, The Bear and the Maiden Fair– season 3 episode 8, The Rains of Castamere– season 3 episdoe 9, Blood of My Blood– season 6 episode 6, The Broken Man– season 6 episode 7, and No one– season 6 episode 8.

You can buy these episodes individually on Amazon. HBO also has a streaming app called HBO Go that you can sign up for if you’re interested in watching the whole thing.

He is also in the show The Night Manager. Let me tell you, this is going on my must watch list. The cast is filled with big names. Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie star in this spy thriller. Hiddleston is recruited by MI-6 to influtrate Laurie’s inner circle of his arms trade business. Menzies plays Geoffrey Dromgoole and is in episodes 2-6. It is a mini series, so he is in all but the first one. He plays a sneaky character as well, so I can’t wait to update you all on this show. Has anyone seen it? I’d love to hear your point of view.

This is available on Amazon.

mv5bmtk1nzkymtuyn15bml5banbnxkftztgwntm0nzm2ode-_v1_Menzies is in a lot of different TV shows, to include the Cold War episode of Doctor Who, with small roles. But he does have some new movies coming out like The Underworld: Blood Wars.

Graham McTavish

We are going to finish our list with the always sexy, Dougal MacKenzie or Graham McTavish. Did you all know he is the voice for several video games? He has worked on all different kinds and portrayed several different voices. He has been in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Assassins Creed III. Might be some fun knowledge to drop on the hubby giving you grief for watching Outlander.

For your Netflix subscribers, Graham has two different movies on there. The first, is The Finest Hours. Two oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard and the Coast Guard goes on a daring rescue mission. Graham plays Frank Fauteux, who is a veteran ship mate to the star, Chris Pine.

It is also on Amazon if you don’t have Netflix.

He is also in Plastic. Two young guys infiltrate a credit card company but they’ve stolen from the wrong man. In order to get the money to pay him back, they need to pull off an amazing diamond heist. McTavish plays the head of an international business but is actually on the wrong end of the guys’ con.

It is also on Amazon if you don’t have Netflix.

Finally, for those of you Tolkien fans out there, McTavish is also a dwarf in the movie series involving The Hobbit. He plays the fierce warrior Dwalin and is in all three movies. He is one of the 12 companions for Bilbo. These are crazy popular movies and you can find them in almost any movie store. Obviously, it’s on Amazon. However, they haven’t graced Netflix with their presence.

Finally, if these movies and shows aren’t enough to keep your spirits up, there is this documentary. It is 92Y: An Outlander Evening with Series Cast, Author, and Producer. Give this a watch on a Saturday night when you’re feeling lonely. You can see your favorite stars and even here Diana’s answers to some questions from Cosmopolitan‘s executive editor.

It’s on Amazon.

While we know we only included some of the places to see our favorite stars, we’d love to hear about your favorites. Is there another Outlander star you like to watch in a different series? Have you seen any of these movies or shows and you’d like to tell us about it? We’d love to hear from you. Comment below or on any of our social media sites.

Until next week, here is a little knee porn for you.

Sarah and I both have books out now, so if you like our posts, you’ll probably love our books! First Semester is a thrilling college romance that you can get HERE. Queen of Emeralds is a historic romance set in the highlands that you can get HERE.
